POTWALLOPING ASSETS TO REMAIN FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COMMUNITY
The 2010 Committee are pleased to announce that the Westward Ho! Community Association, also known as the Kingsley Hall Committee, were the successful applicants to receive the assets of the Westward Ho! Potwalloping Festival.
A total of 19 applications from worthy causes were submitted to the Westward Ho! Potwalloping Festival Committee following the public announcement of its dissolution. The Community Association were selected as their Aims, Objectives and ethos were the closest match to the stipulated eligibility criteria. They will be organising a Potwalloping event during the Whitsun weekend, albeit in a different guise to that of recent Festivals, but thereby ensuring that the celebration of the old Potwalloping tradition of the community coming together will continue.
The WHPF 2010 Committee would like to acknowledge and thank Torridge Voluntary Services for the advice, support and guidance that they provided to the committee throughout the dissolution and application selection process and to wish the Westward Ho! Community Association every success in the future.
